Installation inside

Flooring

  • BELTRALINEA should be installed with Beltraflex (min 0,5 and max 1,5 cm thick)on a dry concrete floor/screed.
  • Drying time floor: 1 week/cm thickness + 1 extra week (e.g. concrete floor/screed is 7 cm = 8 weeks drying time).
  • Double bonding is necessary; this means that both the back of the strips and the concrete floor/screed are covered with BELTRAFLEX/adhesive.
  • After laying do not spray the strips with water and if fixed with joints, the joints must be left open for several days (a minimum of 3 days when the weather is damp) so that the moisture can evaporate through these joints. The thickness of the joints depends on the stone you use, please consult the technical data sheet of the material used. The grout is Beltrajoint. During the grouting it is important to clean the strips in order to avoid a cement film.
  • Installation in combination with underfloor heating: it is recommended that the supplier's instructions are strictly adhered to(cfr BBRI ref TV 179 and 189). Installation with Beltraflex/adhesive(min 0,5 and max 1,5 cm thick) on a dry concrete floor/screed. Drying time floor: 1 week/cm thickness + 1 week (e.g. concrete floor/ screed is 7 cm = 8 weeks drying time). A rustproof metal reinforcement net (e.g. 50 x 50 x 2 mm; no chicken net) must be incorporated in the concrete floor/screed. Expansion joints have to be placed per area of 5 m or per 25 m². Against the walls an expansion joint also has to be installed by using expandable polystrene or a similar product. Before the installation of the floor, the heating has to be started up gradually. This can be done after a waiting period of minimum 28 days after the installation of the concrete floor/screed by increasing the heath by 5 °C per 24 hours. After the heating system has worked for a minimum of 3 to 7 days on maximum temperature, the temperature has to be decreased gradually until the normal starting temperature has been reached again. After having waited an extra day the natural stone can be installed.

Wall cladding

  • The BELTRALINEA strips should be installed with Beltraflex (min 0,5 and max 1,5 cm thick) on a dry and sufficient sticking background.
  • Double bonding is necessary, this means that both the back of the strips and the wall are covered with adhesive.
  • The joints must be left open for several days (a minimum of 3 days when the weather is damp), so that the moisture can evaporate through these joints. The thickness of the joints depends on the stone you use, please consult the technical data sheet of the material used. The grout is Beltrajoint. During the grouting it is important to clean the strips in order to avoid a cement film.
  • When fixing Beltralinea Stoneskin strips and the hand cleft strips as a wall cladding the joints are not to be grouted. For cladding corners we advise cutting the strips at an angle.
